Houthis Demolish Over 1,200 Homes and Facilities in Systematic Attacks

The Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms has exposed the terrorist Houthi militia's campaign of systematic destruction, targeting more than 1,200 residential, educational, religious, and vital facilities—a dangerous escalation constituting grave violations against civilians across multiple Yemeni governorates.

In a recent human rights report, the Network documented the Houthis' demolition of 1,232 private and public homes and structures across 17 governorates between September 2014 and March 1, 2025. This represents one of the most extensive organized targeting campaigns to date, laying bare the armed group's entrenched terrorist ideology.

The report details the militia's widespread assaults, including:

987 residential homes (fully or partially destroyed)

76 mosques and Quranic schools, in flagrant violation of places of worship's sanctity

39 educational facilities, deliberately undermining Yemen's education system

37 commercial centers and markets

63 farms and water wells, as part of a deliberate starvation and deprivation strategy

18 political party offices and 29 government buildings, seeking absolute control

9 healthcare facilities

4 heritage sites

156 bridges and roads, revealing systematic infrastructure targeting

The report further highlights how the militia has expanded its crimes beyond bombings to include extrajudicial killings, forced displacement, and village raids—relentless efforts to crush Yemeni resistance and impose its foreign-backed sectarian agenda through violence.

The Network stressed that these attacks unmask the Houthis' true nature as a terrorist group that routinely violates international law and humanitarian principles.
