Houthi Militia Resumes Attacks on Marib; Government Forces Vow Retaliation

Marib, Yemen – Houthi militias renewed their assault on the city of Marib and its densely populated residential areas and camps housing displaced persons on Saturday, launching ballistic missile strikes. This escalation poses a significant threat to civilian lives and the safety of displacement camps.

A military source confirmed that government forces are resolute in their national duty to protect civilians and confront Houthi aggression. These forces will continue their mission until the state is restored and the capital, Sana'a, is liberated from Houthi control, according to the Armed Forces' Media Center.

The source further indicated that the armed forces will respond to these Houthi terrorist attacks at an appropriate time and place, ensuring the militia is deterred and civilian lives and public interests are safeguarded.

This latest escalation follows Houthi attacks on Friday targeting the Al-Naseem and Al-Mil camps north of Marib city. Those attacks resulted in the death of two civilians and injuries to fourteen others, predominantly women and children.

The Houthi militia persists in its escalation and targeting of civilians and camps for the displaced, while the armed forces maintain their readiness to address threats and fulfill their obligation to protect Marib city and its inhabitants.
