Houthi Commander Killed by National Resistance in Al Hudaydah
A field commander for the Houthi militia, identified as Abdo Jiash, was killed along with several of his companions by the National Resistance in the Al-Jarahi district, south of Al Hudaydah governorate. The operation occurred after Jiash was implicated in artillery shelling that targeted civilian areas in western Yemen.
Military media affiliated with the National Resistance reported that a unit from the Second Brigade "Zaraniq" monitored Jiash's movements in the Kida area. Concentrated strikes were subsequently launched, resulting in his death and that of his escorts.
The source further clarified that Jiash had intensified his targeting of civilian infrastructure with mortar shells over the past three days. This escalation coincided with unsuccessful attempts to attack military positions situated near the front lines.
The military media confirmed that the Second Brigade Zaraniq fighters delivered precise strikes that silenced the sources of fire from the Iranian-backed militia. It was also noted that Jiash was involved in committing grave crimes against the Zaraniq tribes over the past years.
The Houthi militia reportedly held a funeral for Jiash in the Al-Jarahi city of Al Hudaydah governorate on the same day.
