National Resistance and Al-Subaiha Tribes Retake Strategic Sites in Lahj
Units of the National Resistance forces, supported by local Al-Subaiha tribesmen, have successfully recaptured strategic positions in the Al-Madaribah and Ras Al-Ara districts of Lahj Governorate in southern Yemen following intense clashes with Houthi militants.
Field sources confirmed that the joint forces reclaimed the strategic Jabal Safan and Qarn Al-Shamayah sites located in the eastern axis of the region. The operation followed hours of heavy fighting, during which the Houthi militia sustained significant losses in both personnel and equipment.
The confrontation, which escalated on Sunday, was triggered by a Houthi offensive targeting Qarn Al-Shamayah and the Al-Majza’a and Al-Zanqara areas. The militants launched their assault from the direction of Al-Zariqa, prompting a swift and forceful response from the defending forces.
The forces stationed on the front lines demonstrated resilience, successfully repelling multiple waves of Houthi attacks that had begun the previous day. Military observers noted that the recovery of Jabal Safan and Qarn Al-Shamayah marks a critical tactical advancement, significantly bolstering defensive positions and enhancing security across the volatile region.
