Houthi Missile Misfire Kills Woman and Injures Two in Ibb Governorate

A failed missile launch by Houthi forces resulted in the death of a young woman and left two other family members severely injured in the Al-Ashraf sub-district of Ibb, Yemen, on Sunday evening.

According to human rights sources, the incident occurred when a projectile, which the Houthi militia had attempted to launch, malfunctioned and plummeted into a farm in the village of Al-Akar. The victim, 21-year-old Inas Abdulmalik Al-Abadi, was killed instantly when the missile struck the area where the family was present.

The blast also caused significant casualties among other family members at the scene. The victim’s husband, 24-year-old Baligh Abdo Musleh, sustained serious injuries to his forehead and left eye. His mother, 55-year-old Amriya Saeed Saif, suffered the traumatic amputation of her hand. All survivors were subsequently transported to Al-Qaida Hospital for emergency medical treatment.

Local reports indicate that the militia attempted to evade responsibility for the failed launch immediately following the incident. Sources stated that Houthi officials exerted pressure on the grieving family, compelling them to issue public statements through militia-affiliated media outlets that falsely attributed the strike to the Saudi-led Arab Coalition.
