Yemeni Government Forces Down Houthi Drone Over Al-Dhale Governorate

Yemeni government forces successfully intercepted and downed an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) belonging to Houthi militias in the Maris front, located in the northern part of Al-Dhale Governorate, on Thursday.

A military source confirmed that units stationed within the Maris sector identified and engaged the drone as it conducted unauthorized flights over military positions. The operation was completed without any reported casualties or collateral damage to military infrastructure.

The conflict in Al-Dhale, particularly across the Maris and Al-Fakhir fronts, remains volatile, characterized by intermittent skirmishes, reciprocal shelling, and persistent infiltration attempts. The deployment of drones by Houthi forces has become a frequent tactic for both reconnaissance and offensive operations in these contested regions.

This incident occurs amid a broader trend of Houthi reliance on UAV technology to target civilian infrastructure, densely populated areas, and critical facilities across Yemen.
