Houthi Militiaman Kills Brother Over Land Dispute in Sanaa

A Houthi militiaman has killed his elder brother in the Arhab district, north of the capital Sanaa, following a dispute over a piece of land. This incident marks the latest act of domestic violence reported in areas under Houthi control.

Local sources reported that the Houthi gunman, identified as Mohammed Abdullah Qaid Al-Adhari, fatally shot his older brother, Abdulrazzaq, on Monday. The altercation occurred over a land disagreement in the village of Beit Al-Adhari, within the Sha'ab district of Arhab.

The sources added that the crime takes place amid a rise in family disputes and homicides within Houthi-controlled territories. This escalation is attributed to a growing culture of violence, the absence of effective law enforcement, and the societal impacts of the Houthi militia's ongoing mobilization and ideological training programs for its members.

According to human rights statistics, hundreds of relatives are killed or injured annually in domestic violence incidents in areas under Houthi control. A significant portion of these crimes are reportedly carried out by Houthi elements, leaders, or individuals influenced by the group's pervasive propaganda and mobilization rhetoric.
