Joint Forces Secure Strategic Positions in Al-Maqatirah Front, Lahj
Forces from the 4th Hazm Brigade and the 1st Maghawir Brigade achieved significant territorial gains on Wednesday, successfully liberating and securing strategic mountainous positions in the Al-Maqatirah front of Lahj Governorate from Houthi militia control.
Field sources reported that the joint forces launched a coordinated surprise offensive against militia positions embedded within the villages of Hadadah and Ma'baq. During the operation, the forces seized control of several key mountainous sites overlooking Hadadah, most notably the Al-Khazan hill, which was fully secured following intense clashes with insurgent elements.
The offensive resulted in substantial losses for the Houthi militia in both personnel and military equipment. The joint forces are currently continuing their advance, pursuing fleeing militants while simultaneously conducting clearing operations to fortify and secure the newly liberated areas.
This tactical advancement follows a previous defensive success in which the 4th Hazm and 1st Maghawir brigades repelled a Houthi attempt to seize the Al-Khazan hill in the Al-Sawalihah region. That earlier engagement occurred as the militia sought to gain a foothold in the Al-Maqatirah front, located west of the Tur Al-Bahah district.
