Houthi Militia Escalates Attacks Across Multiple Fronts in Yemen

The Iran-backed Houthi militia has launched a broad series of coordinated attacks across several Yemeni provinces, targeting critical infrastructure, residential villages, and commercial transport vehicles. The escalation, which intensified over the past 24 hours, included artillery bombardments and drone strikes in Taiz, Hodeidah, and Al-Dhale, while extending to areas near the Al-Wadea border crossing and Al-Abr district in Hadramout.

Field reports confirm that a Houthi strike near the Al-Wadea border crossing resulted in the destruction of four transport trucks, some of which were carrying fuel. In the Al-Abr district of Hadramout, a separate drone attack struck a warehouse, causing significant material damage. Meanwhile, in Taiz, intermittent clashes between government forces and Houthi militants were reported in the city's northern front and the Al-Kurayfat area, with government forces engaging a Houthi military vehicle in the Al-Aqroud region.

In the western coastal region, the National Resistance Forces successfully thwarted a major offensive by Houthi insurgents against positions in the Hays district of Hodeidah. Military sources stated that reconnaissance teams identified an imminent attack on Jabal Dubas, allowing government forces to engage the militants in a two-hour battle that resulted in casualties among the Houthi ranks. During the offensive, Houthi artillery fired over 20 mortar shells into four residential villages, forcing civilians and displaced families to flee their homes due to the destruction of property and growing safety concerns.

The violence extended to Al-Dhale, where a civilian was wounded in a drone strike on a farm in northern Murays. This follows a previous incident in the same region where two civilians were injured when their vehicle, traveling from Sanaa to Aden, was struck by Houthi mortar fire. Similar reports of intense shelling were documented in the Maqbana district of western Taiz, raising further alarms regarding civilian safety and the protection of private property.

Since early July, the Houthi militia has significantly escalated its aggression against civilian infrastructure, including the port of Mocha and various commercial hubs across the western coast and Marib. These attacks have resulted in dozens of civilian casualties and the disruption of essential economic activities. In response to the ongoing instability, Yemeni activists and citizens are calling on the Presidential Leadership Council and the Coalition to Support Legitimacy to adopt a decisive political and military strategy to restore state institutions and neutralize the threats posed by the Houthi movement to both the nation and international maritime navigation.
