Houthi Militia Intensifies Abductions in Dhamar Amid Anti-Regime Slogans

The Houthi militia has escalated its security campaign in Dhamar Governorate, targeting several young men in the Al-Hada district following the emergence of anti-group slogans and the defacement of its insignia on roadways.

Local sources indicate that Houthi supervisors instructed community leaders in the center of Al-Hada district to monitor specific young men suspected of involvement in writing phrases demanding the group's departure, including one slogan that read: "Leave.. we are tired of your deception." This message appeared on a road before Houthi elements removed it.

The sources further clarified that this escalation occurred days after the group abducted five young men in early July, transferring them to one of its prisons in Dhamar city. Among those detained were three members of the Al-Ghuwaibi family, while the other two young men hail from the Al-Azizi and Al-Aawaj families.

According to the sources, the pursuit operations are concentrated in the Bani Ziyad, Al-Milh, and Al-Jarsha areas. The militia has intensified surveillance and search efforts for the suspected individuals, concurrently with actions by its elements to remove anti-Houthi slogans and graffiti that appear on roads and walls shortly after they are written.

These measures are part of the Houthi group's ongoing efforts to suppress dissenting voices and quell manifestations of popular rejection in areas under their control, amidst growing public discontent with their security and political practices.
