Prominent Sheikh Declares Mobilization Against Houthis After Alleged Torture

Sheikh Hamad bin Rashid bin Fadgham Al-Hazmi has declared a tribal mobilization against the Houthi militia, alleging severe torture and coercion during his detention in areas controlled by the group. His pronouncement came shortly after his arrival in areas under the control of the legitimate government in the Al-Rayan region, east of Al-Jawf Governorate.

Upon reaching the tribal lands of "Bani Nauf - Al-Marazeeq," Sheikh Al-Hazmi directly accused prominent Houthi leaders, including Abu Ali Al-Hakim, Faris Manaa, and Ali Hussein Al-Houthi, of exerting intense pressure to force him to confess to charges he claims he did not commit and has no connection to.

Al-Hazmi stated that he endured continuous torture in prison for fifty days and was denied medical care, including being transferred to a hospital during his illness. He clarified that previous statements made before his release were under duress and constituted false testimony, given under compulsion to ensure his personal safety and to protect "Meera Saddam Hussein," whom he reiterated is the daughter of the former Iraqi president.

In a significant escalation reflecting prevailing tribal customs, Sheikh Hamad bin Fadgham Al-Hazmi performed the act of "breaking his jannabiya" (a traditional Yemeni dagger) before attendees in the Al-Rayan region. This ancient tribal custom signifies a call to arms and a tribal mobilization directed towards the tribes of Daham, Bakil, Hashid, Mazhaj, and all Yemeni tribes.

Al-Hazmi urged all Yemeni tribes to converge, provide support, and stand with him to avenge his dignity and confront the alleged violations. He concluded his statement by declaring, "By God, I will remain steadfast, and I will not return except through great battle," signifying his intent to confront the Houthis.
