Three Civilians Killed, Others Injured in Houthi Attacks in Taiz

Three civilians, including a child, were killed and several others, including three women, were wounded in separate incidents involving Houthi militia attacks and landmines in the rural areas of Taiz Governorate, southwestern Yemen.

According to a human rights source, a woman and two of her sisters were killed following the detonation of a Houthi-planted landmine in the village of Bani Amer, located in the Ash Shamayatayn district, south of the governorate.

In a separate incident, 13-year-old Elias Mohammed Ali Al-Jundi and a citizen identified as Mu'tasim Ibrahim Ahmed Qasim were killed when Houthi shelling struck residential homes in the village of Ad, situated on the summit of Mount Sabr in the Sabr Al Mawadim district, south of Taiz city.

Local sources confirmed that the shelling resulted in additional civilian injuries, although a precise casualty count for the wounded has yet to be determined.

These incidents underscore the persistent risks facing civilians in rural Taiz, where the ongoing presence of landmines and indiscriminate shelling by Houthi forces continue to cause significant loss of life and damage to residential infrastructure.
