Seiyun Hospital Contract Nurses Threaten Mass Resignation Over Unpaid Dues
Contract nurses at Seiyun General Hospital have threatened to proceed with a collective resignation, signed by 183 staff members, if their demands for the disbursement of overdue financial dues and incentives remain unaddressed.
The nursing staff stated in a released statement that the deadline they provided to the hospital administration to resolve the crisis is nearing its midpoint without any tangible progress on the issue of outstanding payments. They highlighted that this situation has exacerbated the suffering of nursing personnel amid economic decline and rising living costs.
The statement clarified that the only action taken by the hospital administration since the announcement of the collective resignation on June 7th was the disbursement of overdue financial dues dating back to 2025, which occurred on June 14th. They emphasized that this step does not meet current demands nor does it represent a fundamental solution to the crisis.
The nursing staff reaffirmed their commitment to their professional and employment rights, urging concerned authorities to intervene promptly and address the issue of outstanding payments, ensuring their regular disbursement. This, they stated, would guarantee the stability of healthcare personnel and the continuity of medical services for citizens.
The statement warned that the continued disregard for their demands could lead to the execution of the mass resignation immediately after the deadline of July 7, 2026. They hold the hospital administration fully responsible for any potential deterioration in the quality of health services or disruption of operations in the upcoming period.
